It Only Sounds Like An April Fool's Gag

ALEX: Hey Mark, what are you doing?

MARK: I'm playing with the beta of the latest Mozilla Firefox browser.

ALEX: Oh? What do you think?

MARK: It automatically overrides my default mouse button assignments, provides no obvious way to change them back, and has a tendency to display text at 200% of its actual size.

ALEX: Other than that?

MARK: It loads web pages.

Firefox...

I've never actually had any of those problems, unless it's something specific to the beta.

Pidgin (multi IM tool) on the other hand...I loaded the updated version and it died altogether.

Never had a problem with Firefox before...

...but I've got Kubuntu Hardy installed on one of my computers and it uses the Firefox 3 beta as it's default browser, and I'm running into it there. Constantly. Persistently. Apparently the Mozilla developers have decided to change the way the mouse works, much to my outrage...

I'll stick with

the current build then.

I found out my Pidgin problems, it kept my proxy settings (which the old version refused to do) and I didn't think to check them to turn them off ~headdesk~

EDIT: At the time I downloaded the update, I was at home, not using a proxy. It's nice that this build of Pidgin keeps them for me, but it could have told me...I was so used to having to type the proxy stuff in, I never thought to check.
