ALICE: Heads up, big brother. We've got a new product we're going to be pushing through and I want tech support ready to hype it for all it's worth.

ALEX: What are we mindlessly pushing on our customers now?

ALICE: Don't be cheeky. Due to the extreme popularity of the marketing phrase "cloud computing," we're going to be pushing a new operating system that is optimized for "The Cloud."

ALEX: So you're re-branding the thin client.

ALICE: No, the thin client is a client/server technology. This technology is based on "The Cloud."

ALEX: Which is server based.

the comment button is missing from some parts of your site, I looked from two places and couldn't post in OSW

That's intentional...

The ability to post comments in a comic is locked after one week of publication. It cuts down on comment spam.

That seems a bit short.

That seems a bit short. What about the people who only come across the comic later on, or who read comics in batches (eg. monthly) rather than daily/weekly?

Usually flagging anything that has an URL (or more than one URL) for moderation is sufficient to kill most kinds of comment spam, without imposing time limits.

It might be a bit short...

... but for a while the bulk of my comment spam was backposted by about a week and a half. The majority of the legit comments on this site are made within 2-3 days of the comic.

Still, I might extend the backposting cutoff by a week or two.

Not a bug...

Ah! Thus it is not a BUG, but a FEATURE!

(Ubersoft couldn't have said it better!)

Hey, very interesting post.

My written English is not so good so I write in German:

"Lieber den Spatz in der Hand, als die Taube auf dem Dach."

Yours sincerely
