Is this real?
Is this a real patent? If not, ironically, US Patent 6068865 is "Chocolate yogurt and preparation."
Real patent
I'm not sure about the patent number, but, yes, McDonalds really has filed for the patent on "Method and Apparatus for Making a Sandwich." It brought me back to the days of frivolous lawsuits, myself.
It's a European patent, not
It's a European patent, not a US patent, and that is in fact the patent number. :)

This webcomic is great for giving me news I wish I didn't know.
OK, thanks, I found it
The character after the W is a capital O, not a zero, in case anyone else looks, or the patent itself is here. Although, I will say that, the banality of the title aside, the gadget in the patent is a pretty neat idea.
Wow
There are so many typos in that abstract, I wonder if they even read it over after they typed it...
I would bet on No.
There may still be hope
As long as they missed pumpernickel we can still survive.
