I know updates have been very erratic lately... I've been distracted by Real Life Stuff, like bills and job searches and various other things.

Unfortunately I have had to disable anonymous comments. Why, you ask? Because the bot spammers are going berzerk on my site. I spent all day travelling 17 1/2 hours (nearly 1000 miles) going from Charlottesville, VA to Monroe, LA, and when I finally get home I find spambots have had a field day in my absence. My personal favorite was the one that advertised a "boob-enlarging ringtone."

I hope this will be temporary. If you want to comment on the site you can always create an account. Lately it usually works...

Tomorrow I leave for Charlottesville to hang out with my family for the 4th of July. I'll start up the comic again on Monday.

I've updated the spam-catching tool my site uses to nap comment spammers. Almost immediately after doing so the comment spam stopped. Actually, almost immediately after doing so ALL comment-related activity stopped. I'm still trying to figure out if there's a connection.

Minor technical difficulties have prevented me from posting comics. Not site difficulties per se (though apparently some bot is zerg rushing my site with comment spam, thank you very much for that whoever you are), just stuff. I'll try and get back on the horse tomorrow.

Because I missed my update yesterday, the current Help Desk storyline will conclude on Saturday.

This Sunday my wife and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. As everyone knows, the traditional gift for a 12th anniversary is "nifty technology," so I bought her a Wii. My wife promptly bought a Wii Fit, upon which I discovered that I, a 36 year-old man, have a "Wii Health Age" of 58.

Technology Is Not Your Friend.

Yep. Everything is back to normal. Updates resume as sort-of-scheduled.

It wasn't an explosion that required a building to be evacuated and EMT services to be called on the scene or anything like that (at least, not as far as I know)... but until right about just this minute I haven't had access to the Internet. Apparently a rather important connection that my cable internet provider relies on decided it would prefer not to be reliable.

They gave it a good talking to, and it promised to change its unruly ways, but don't you believe it for a second: I have it on authority that this "rather important connection" associates with a very undesirable element of society.

At any rate, comics resume publication tomorrow.

I've mostly shaken the upper respiratory infection thing... still a lingering cough, but overall I'm feeling much better.

Now I just need to find a job...
